Two more UNVI Voyager GTs for Hailstone Travel

2016 December 02

Wickford, Essex-based Hailstone Travel will soon take delivery of a further two UNVI Voyager GT-bodied Mercedes-Benz Ategos, with the operator saying that it aims to be the first in the area to move to an entirely Euro 6 fleet.

"The two new Voyager GTs will mean that five of our 10 vehicles will satisfy Euro 6," says Director Tina Hailstone. The business, which she runs with husband Lawrence, was established in 1988 and the 34-seat Voyager GTs are its largest coaches. "It is helpful to have four midicoaches that are all the same because customers often ask for one of them. "The Voyager GTs are nicely laid out inside and have lots of legroom, which is one of the model’s major plus points. "Luggage space is good and access for passengers is too. The atmosphere is that of a full-sized coach, and we may be tempted by a 41-seat Touring GT in the future," adds Mrs Hailstone. Mr and Mrs Hailstone recently visited UNVI’s factories in Portugal and Spain and came away impressed. "Finding out that bodies are built from stainless steel and aluminium is comforting and we are pleased with the incremental developments seen on the Voyager GT," says Mr Hailstone. All four midicoaches have been supplied by Taylor Coach Sales of Ely. Says MD Steve Taylor: "I am delighted that Hailstone Travel has opted for UNVI again. I have dealt with the company for 15 years and look forward to continuing to do so."
